SZA (Solána Imani Rowe) is an American singer-songwriter who was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 8, 1989. Her music combines elements of R&B, hip-hop, and soul. SZA first gained recognition in 2012 and 2013 for her self-released EPs See.SZA.Run (2012) and S (2013). In 2013, she became the first woman to sign with Top Dawg Entertainment after Terrence Henderson heard her EPs. Her debut album, Ctrl, was released in 2017 and has helped her rise to fame.
